Olympus – The Meteora – Olympic Riviera
What is included in Olympus – The Meteora – Olympic Riviera trip:
Route: Sofia – Mount Olympus – Litochoro – The Meteora – The Olympic Riviera
We leave from Sofia at 8 a.m. After about 6 hours of travelling we reach the car park in the village of Prionia (1,070 m) at the foot of Mount Olympus. From here we start our walking trek to Spilios Agapitos Refuge (2,100 m). We arrive at the refuge around dusk and we spend our first night there.
Duration – 4-5 hours.
We take only the required equipment! We attack the peak of Mytikas (2,918 m). We trek to the summit of Skala (2,866 m/3.5 hours), from where we head to Mytikas (1 hour). It is quite likely for us to use mountain equipment for this section of the trek.
We go back to the refuge in the early afternoon, in order to collect our luggage and we go back to the cars.
We travel to the town of Litochoro, where we arrive in the evening. Dinner at a taverna with local cuisine.
Activity for the day – 7-8 hours.
We go to the Meteora – a curious complex of rock monasteries – a total of nine, out of which we will be able to visit six.
In the late afternoon, we leave for the beach, where we will camp for our last night.
We are enjoying the beach until noon. We have lunch and afterwards we leave back for Sofia (6-7 hours).
We arrive in Sofia around 8 p.m.

Price includes – guide services and equipment.
Travel is shared.
Important: Departure and travel times are approximate and they depend on the pace of the whole group. These also include time for rest.
The guide has the right to change the route upon unexpected circumstances!
The approximate price for a night is 15 Euro and is paid when we get there.
For the trek you will need insurance, dry food and water.
